About Musculoskeletal Disorders
Musculoskeletal issues are due to disorders with the muscles and joints in the body. Most causes of joint discomfort are due to problems with the actual joint itself. However, there are still a large variety of diseases and illnesses that can affect the muscles and joints that may adversely affect quality of life and living in terms of daily living.
Causes of Musculoskeletal Pain
Musculoskeletal discomfort plagues many people, but often may not have a clear cut, simple cause. Different parts of the human body are connected and influence each other in obvious and not so obvious ways. Causes of musculoskeletal pain may originate from the nervous system, the vascular system, or even the integumentary or digestive system. Likewise, issues with the musculoskeletal system may cause issues in other systems, such as bladder or respiratory problems.
Similarly, difficulty with muscle activity typically originates from the muscles, but may also have other, more sinister causes from other body systems. For instance, a toxin or infection may result in muscle dysfunction. Muscle paralysis, ranging from the eye muscles to the arms and legs, may be due to a problem within the nervous system. Muscle discomfort may also have other less common causes related to other body systems, including inflammatory or integumentary.
