How many people are affected by chronic pain?
One in three Americans suffers from some type of chronic pain. The consistent and chronic pain does not go away despite traditional medical efforts at treatments. It disrupts home, life, and work. Often, others who can’t see the cause of the pain misunderstand it.

How is the quality of life affected by chronic pain?
When chronic pain takes over, a person’s entire life may become focused on it. The pain dictates how much you can do and when you can do it. The less active a person becomes, the weaker they become. As the pain continues, enjoyable activities are avoided for fear of making the pain worse. People find it difficult to sleep comfortably which leaves them exhausted and less able to bear pain. There is a sense of loss of control in one’s life. With effective treatment, a person can, with time and help get back control of their life.
